Diet Plan
Following are details of your Diet Plan during your stay in hospital.

1. Veg / Non-Veg : The hospital provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, except on Fridays, when the menu is purely vegetarian. Please indicate your dietary preference to the dietician and nursing staff, especially if you prefer pure vegetarian or Jain food.

2. Tea / Coffee : Tea / coffee is served three times a day. Kindly indicate your preference in advance. However, milk and juice will entail an additional charge. Bedtime milk is provided only according to dietary requirements.

3. Breakfast : Indian breakfast (poha, upma, dosa): Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays.
Continental breakfast (bread, butter, jam, boiled egg, fruit) rest of the week.

4. Patients are not allowed to consume edibles from outside the hospital.

5. Dietician’s Visit : A dietician visits every patient soon after admission, except for fasting patients such as those scheduled for surgery, etc. Subsequent visits by the dietician will be made only if a change in diet is recommended by your consulting doctor.

However, patients may consult with the dietician at any point during their stay in hospital. They may intimate the nursing staff; their relatives may visit the Department of Dietetics & Nutrition on the ground floor; or they can call Ext: 345.

6. Relatives’ Meals : Patients’ relatives must eat their meals in the canteen and not in the rooms / wards.

7. Damages : Any loss / damage / breakage of catering items will entail a penalty to cover costs.

8. Diet Sheet : A customised Diet Plan that needs to be followed post-discharge may be requested a day prior to discharge on payment of a nominal fee. Charges vary according to the class of accommodation. However, patients with diabetes, renal disease or hypertension will be provided general dietary instructions on discharge at no extra cost.
