Thinking on our feet and taking the right calls can make the difference between life and death.
Our Emergency Department works quickly and efficiently under nerve-wracking circumstances while handling all types of cases, from minor to the most challenging. Using an all-hands-on-deck approach to saving lives and specialising in emergency treatment, we thus administer the best possible critical care to all our patients.
For cases that require special attention and depending on the specialty involved (surgery, paediatric, etc), a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) or the hospital's Intensivist may also be summoned. If necessary, the Intensivist may discuss with the Consultant on call.
Our Emergency team works together with maximum precision since patients coming to ER are acutely ill, anxious and require quick diagnosis and immediate treatment,
unlike patients who attend the regular OPD. Hence our team of well qualified and dedicated doctors and nurses offer immediate treatment and where needed, resuscitation and stabilization, before the patient can be transferred to either
the ICU or ward.
The Emergency Department is headed by a qualified specialist in emergency medicine. His team comprises the CMO (casualty medical officer) and trained nursing staff who are able to deliver quality care to patients. Specialists and intensivists form part of the extended team. The ER department treats critical patients as per the triage, providing prompt treatment. Saving life is our priority.
There are a total of eight beds, including two high dependency beds for critically ill patients, a treatment room and a room for minor surgery and plastering.
Medico-legal cases that require admission to our hospital will not be discharged unless all the formalities are completed.
Should patients request The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick while under emergency care, we will try to fulfil this wish.
