Holy Family Hospitals’ Heart Institute has an advanced surgical team with over 10 years of experience in complex cardiac surgery. Supported by high class infrastructure and top-of-the-line equipment, our cardiac surgery team capably handles over 400 critical cases a year. On the 28th of August 2010, HFH’s heart institute got the ultimate upgrade with the inauguration of the Hybrid Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, the first of its kind in India’s western region.

Now, highly skilled cardiac surgeons work shoulder to shoulder with cardiologists, enabling open heart surgical procedures and cardiac catheterization in the same sterile operating theatre. The hybrid cath lab makes ‘sighted’ cardiac surgery possible with ‘live’ top-end 3D imaging; significantly reducing the risk factor and the margin for error. Another significant advantage is that the use of the Hybrid Cath Lab / OR Suite enables the use of minimally invasive interventions, thus reducing cardiac patient’s trauma and recovery time is also reduced to a great extent.
