Holy Family Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 2nd December, 2014 with TEXILA AMERICAN UNIVERSITY (TAU), having its registered office at: Critchlow, Woolford Avenue, Georgetown, Guyana, South America. TAU conducts examinations in various medical specialties at the postgraduate level.

Holy Family Hospital has the required infrastructure to provide postings to students in various departments for the purpose of training them for postgraduate studies. Students whose names are listed in the Indian Medical Register, as maintained by the Medical Council of India (MCI) as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and are already registered with TAU for the purpose of Post-graduate examinations, may apply.

After gaining knowledge and experience by being posted to various departments at Holy Family Hospital, they would be eligible for appearing in the Royal College (RC) examination and the Post Graduate exams offered by TAU.

The total period of posting is for three years. The duration of a posting in a particular department at a time would be either 2 months (8 weeks) or 3 months (12 weeks) as appropriate.

Exams will comprise of : Theory plus Practical Examinations plus Dissertation / Thesis Evaluation etc. The guidelines regarding the examination will be provided by TAU. The Calendar of Events pertaining to preparation of the Dissertation / Thesis will be prescribed by the TAU.

Application Process :
  1. TAU will verify the credentials of the student and recommend to eligible students the availability of postings in Holy Family Hospital
  2. Holy Family Hospital will accept the students recommended / allocated by the TAU and, if necessary, issue letters of offer / invitation for joining the training program.
  3. Holy Family Hospital will accept students only after they receive the acceptance letter from the TAU stating clearly that the student has been fully registered for the TAU Examinations.
  4. Students without the said acceptance letter will not be admitted to the training or entertained in the training / teaching hospital in any manner.
  5. The training will commence twice a year (March and September)
    • March: General Medicine and General Surgery, Radiology
    • Sept.: General Medicine and Anaesthesiology
