Blood Donation Camps

Our Blood Bank works in partnership with the business community, civic organisations, local churches, colleges, NGOs, industrial or commercial entities and concerned individuals to source most of the blood that we collect in the suburb of Bandra, where we are located.

Together, we strive to recruit the best source of blood that exists – healthy donors who care and want to help.

Individuals or organisations interested in organising a blood donation drive need to arrange for a site that is dust-free; cement flooring with appropriate matting helps. The space required depends on the number of staff and donors. Four to five tables with an adequate number of chairs is all the organisers need to arrange. Also, the site should be well lit and ventilated.

Our medical social worker will inspect the proposed site in advance to make sure it is hygienic and is equipped with:

  1. Adequate space
  2. Lighting & ventilation
  3. Electrical outlets
  4. Water supply
  5. Toilet facilities
  6. Furniture (tables & chairs)

A doctor always accompanies the Blood Bank team. This ensures that donors who may have an adverse reaction is taken care of effectively. Voluntary Donors Cards with test reports are handed over within a week, either directly to the donors or through the organisers.
